I count myself lucky on a regular basis. Is it actual luck? I really have no idea. Up until recently, I haven’t been very retrospective with my life or how it all came to be the way it is. With the recent addition of another child to my family and the ever approaching number fifty down the pike… retrospection is something that just seems inevitable… if not, a tad bit cliché.

For now, I’ll shluff it off as luck and report back later when I’ve developed a better thesis on the subject. I didn’t grow up in the arts… I stumbled into it. I took acting in my final year of high school when I realized I needed three more credits to graduate. I was a ‘going no-where fast’ teenager with zero passion or drive unless it involved socializing BUT… I needed three credits to graduate so I filled those three credits with the easiest course I could think of… Drama.

This seemingly small, immature decision led me into two professional acting programs and over twenty years experience as a professional actor. I’ve traveled across the globe to perform and I even lived in New York City for five months in 2015 performing in an Off-Broadway Show.

While in University I once again stumbled… this time into photography and quickly adopted it to my identity and persona. For better or for worse. In the early days there was a lot of the ‘for worse’, I was the guy who had their camera out constantly taking horrible pictures of his dearest and closest friends… BUT once in a while, I’d take a shot that really hit home, to me, to the person in it and to all the people that person knew… and I’ve been chasing that dragon ever since.
