How much does a headshot session cost?

In-studio sessions are $250 for the session and $125 per image you keep — the same rate whether the headshot is for a LinkedIn profile, a firm bio or a casting profile. Get in touch and I’ll walk you through what’s included.

How long does it take?

Anywhere from about thirty minutes to ninety, depending on how many looks you want — some people arrive decided, others want to see a few options side by side on the screen first. The block is booked with room either way, so nobody is watching the clock.

What should I wear?

Solid, neutral colours with minimal pattern, so the attention lands on your face rather than your outfit — and avoid big logos unless they are genuinely part of how you present yourself. Bring a few options if you’re torn; we can shoot more than one, and it’s far easier to choose from the screen than from a hanger. You will get written guidance before the session so nothing is a guess.

I hate having my photo taken. Is that going to be a problem?

No, and you’re in the majority. Nobody arrives knowing what to do in front of a camera, and you don’t have to — I direct the whole way through, and that direction is most of what a session actually is. Every frame goes straight into the computer and we review them together as we go, keeping what works and deleting what doesn’t. That way anything worth changing gets caught while we’re still shooting.

How many images do I get?

As many as you pick. You choose your favourites during the session, in front of the screen with me, so you leave knowing exactly what you’re getting. Finals are delivered within a week of selection, and the retouching isn’t signed off until you have seen it.

What style are your corporate headshots?

Clean, modern and understated. I keep things simple and stay away from trends, so your headshot still looks current years from now.

Can you match the headshot style my new company already uses?

Yes. Send me an existing photo from the company — a colleague’s headshot from the website is enough — and I’ll match the lighting, background and crop so yours belongs with the rest. It doesn’t matter whether the originals were shot by another photographer or years ago; the reference is what I work from. If there is a spec sheet or a lighting diagram, send that as well and it is set up before you walk in.

Is this the session for a LinkedIn photo?

Yes. A LinkedIn headshot is a business headshot, and every session delivers a web size for the platform, composed with the circle in mind. How the circle works, and what to upload.

Do you photograph whole teams?

Regularly, and it works differently enough to have its own page — scheduling, on-location setups and keeping everyone consistent are the whole job there. See team headshots in Edmonton for how those are run and quoted.

His studio is professional and really well-equipped. I loved that I could see the photos as they were being taken, and that he used that to coach me on why he's asking me to do certain things that sounded weird. I also loved that we narrowed down the top photos right then and there, and that his touchup turnaround time was pretty quick.
