Selection

Everybody picks their own.

Every frame goes onto the screen as we shoot, and each person picks their favourite before they leave the room. Nobody is handed a photograph they never agreed to, nothing comes back to you afterwards, and because the selections are made on the day, the finished images come back faster.

Delivery

In five business days.

Retouching is natural, and led by the subject. They say what they want, and nothing is final until they’ve approved it.

If somebody wants a change after that, it comes straight to me rather than through you. There’s no charge for it.

Consistency

Same look, wherever they are.

Same lighting, same background, same crop. Hold those three across everybody and it reads as one company.

The staging matches so the people don’t have to.

And it travels, because the look is in the staging, not the photographer. If your Texas office has to match, I either fly out or help you find someone there who can hold it.

Teams don’t get photographed all at once forever. People join, and a year later your team page is half one photographer and half another — the exact thing you did this to avoid.

So new people get added at a fixed per-person rate, matched to the set that’s already there.

Everybody in one frame, shot together on the day — clean, real, and strong enough to carry a homepage banner. If getting everyone in a room isn’t realistic, there’s another way to do it.

Your workplace, as it is.

While the setup is already in your building, it costs very little to photograph the place working. Culture pages and recruiting need those far more often than another headshot, and they are much harder to fake later.

Ten questions for Ryan.

What do team headshots cost?

Team sessions are quoted on scope rather than sold at a single price, because a group of four in the studio and a department of sixty across two floors aren’t the same job. In-studio team rates work out between $162.50 and $262.50 per person, and the per-person rate comes down as the team gets bigger. Tell me roughly how many people and where, and you’ll get a number back with what’s included.

How long does it take, and how much of our day does it eat?

In your building, five to ten minutes a person. People come down on their own slot in ones and twos, so nobody sits waiting and the office keeps running — a team of a dozen is finished in a morning. In studio it runs longer, fifteen to twenty, because people arrive on their own or in small groups and the pace is looser on purpose. Larger teams are split across a day or two, with the setup left standing in between.

Can you come to our office?

Yes, and for most teams it’s the easier option. A boardroom corner or an empty office is enough space for the lights, a backdrop and a laptop. If your building is difficult, the studio is the alternative and works the same way.

What happens to the people who miss the day?

They get added afterwards, matched to the set, at a fixed per-person rate — which is the same program that covers new hires. It’s expected rather than a problem: somebody is always away, and the finished set isn’t supposed to show it.

Our current headshots were taken by someone else. Can new ones be matched to them?

Yes. Send a few of the existing photographs as reference and the lighting, background and crop are matched to them. It makes no difference who took them or how long ago — the reference is what I work from, and plenty of teams come to me part-way through a set.

How do people choose their photo?

On the spot, in front of the screen, before they leave the room. That’s deliberate: chasing thirty busy people through an online gallery weeks later is the part of this that normally goes wrong, and it’s the part that lands on you.

How many images does each person get, and what if they don’t like theirs?

One retouched image per person is the standard, and plenty of teams take more — some order two or three each, and executives often want two to four to cover different uses. People can buy an extra for themselves afterwards as well. Everyone chooses their own before they leave the room, the retouching is natural and led by the subject, and nothing is final until they’ve approved it. If someone wants a change afterwards they come to me rather than through you, and there’s no charge for that.

When do we get the images?

Within five business days of the session, retouched and ready for the website, LinkedIn, press and internal use.

Can we get a group photo as well?

Yes — either shot properly on the day with everyone in the room, or built afterwards from a full-length portrait of each person, shot with the same setup, if getting everybody together isn’t realistic. The composite version has a practical advantage: people can be added or removed later without reshooting the team.

What should everyone wear?

Solid, neutral colours with minimal pattern, and no big logos unless they are genuinely part of how your team presents itself. You’ll get written guidance to forward on before the session, which saves you having to answer that question thirty times.
